Connect your store

Connecting your store brings your customers, orders, carts and products into AguMail. That is what abandoned-cart emails, purchase-triggered automations, the product picker in the email editor and per-campaign revenue all run on. Store connections are part of the Commerce plans.

WooCommerce connects in a few minutes with our plugin. Any other store, a hosted platform without a plugin or a store you built yourself, sends the same data through the API: see Connect any other store.

  1. In AguMail, go to Settings → API keys → Create key, used for “WooCommerce plugin”. Copy the key; it is shown once.
  2. Install the AguMail for WooCommerce plugin on your WordPress site.
  3. In WooCommerce → AguMail, paste your AguMail URL and the API key, click Test connection, then Sync store data now.

The plugin adds a consent checkbox to checkout, sends orders and cart activity as they happen, and carries campaign attribution back to AguMail. If AguMail cannot connect the store, for example because your plan already has a store connected, Test connection says why.

There is no one-click Shopify connector yet. AguMail read a store through the Admin API token of a custom app, and Shopify stopped letting stores create those in the admin on January 1, 2026.

Two ways in meanwhile:

  • Send the same data through the API. Orders, customers, carts and products from a Shopify store reach AguMail exactly as they do from any other store: see Connect any other store. Abandoned-cart emails, product blocks and revenue per campaign all work the same afterwards.
  • If you already have a custom app made before January 2026, it still works. Email hello@agumail.com and we will connect your store for you.

A Shopify app is on the way. If you want it when it lands, tell us at the same address and we will let you know.

Imported customers are stored as non-mailable unless your platform shows explicit marketing consent. They become mailable when they opt in: through a form, the checkout checkbox, or a double opt-in campaign. This protects your sender reputation from day one.
